A Prayer for the start of the New Year, a prayer for 2026.

Dear friends, I sincerely hope the year has begun well for you (although we just two days into 2026 😊).

As we begin 2026, I’m reminded that not everything ahead is meant to be figured out by ourselves, some things are meant to be entrusted to God.

And that is why, I start the year with a prayer and this is my way of releasing and healing from the past year, and realigning my heart for the year ahead.

Dear Father, as I step into 2026, I surrender what I cannot control. I release the past, the outcomes, and the unanswered questions that weigh on my mind. I acknowledge that my strength is limited, but Yours is not.

Heal the parts of me that last year was left tired or broken. The moments that drained me, the disappointments that lingered, and the silent battles no one saw. I now place them in Your hands. Restore what was worn down and renew what was lost.

Give me peace that is stronger than fear and louder than doubt. When anxiety tries to take over, let Your peace stand firm.

Protect the health and minds of my family and I. Guard our bodies, our thoughts, and our hearts. Cover us in safety, wisdom, and grace throughout every season of this year.

Remove what no longer serves my growth or purpose. Whether it’s habits, relationships, mindsets, or paths that keep me stuck, help me let go without regret and trust You with what comes next.

Guide my decisions so I don’t repeat old lessons. Give me clarity where I once chose confusion, courage where I once hesitated, and wisdom where I once rushed ahead.

Bless my efforts, even the ones no one sees. The quiet work, the late nights, the prayers whispered in private.

Teach me patience when answers take time. When doors don’t open immediately and progress feels slow, help me trust that delay is not denial.

Help me choose faith over worry, every single day. Not just in big moments, but in the small, ordinary ones where fear often tries to sneak in.

And if nothing else in 2026, dear father, let me grow closer to You. Let my heart be more aligned with Yours, my trust deeper, and my walk with You stronger than it’s ever been before.
